Kevin Miske
Kevin Miske first started surfing in the warm waters of Pacific Beach in San Diego at the age of ten. After attending Humboldt State and earning his Teaching Credential in Industrial Technology, Kevin moved to Santa Cruz in 1987. It is in Santa Cruz that his love for and accomplishments in surfing continue to grow. If you live or travel to Santa Cruz you’re likely to see one of Kevin’s many boards in a restaurant or two as about ten of them are on display at local eateries.
Kevin's sponsors include Toes on the Nose, Surftech, O'neill Surfshop, Sex Wax, and Pizza My Heart. Kevin is very enthusiastic about the results of the 10' Miske Model surfboard from Surftech created in Spring 2006. Although he mostly longboards, Kevin enjoys riding whatever size surfboard is most suitable for the conditions and owns everything from shortboards to tandem boards.
Kevin has traveled all over the world to surf, including Costa Rica, Japan, Australia, and Mexico. With the O'neill Surf Academy, Kevin also got to surf and teach kids to surf in England, Belgium, Holland, Spain, France, and Italy. He spent the last 2 years traveling to Tavarua, Fiji.
When he is not surfing, teaching surfing or coaching the high school surf team,Kevin is either playing rugby or enjoying the beauty of his bamboo garden. Kevin and his son Taylor live in their bachelor pad in Capitola. He also has a daughter Rhiannon. Kevin is currently in the process of switching careers after 22 years as a teacher, he is becoming a volunteer fireman with Branciforte Fire District in Santa Cruz.
