Paul Steinberg was born blocks from the beach on the Westside of Santa Cruz. While other Westside groms were learning to boost airs on their shortboards, Paul was working on a surf style that had mostly disappeared in the late sixties. He learned to surf at age six in 1995 and hasn't missed too many days since. A very successful contest surfer, Paul has also done well in paddleboard racing, as a Santa Cruz City Junior Lifeguard, and is an honor roll student at Pacific Collegiate School.

Paul is a big believer in "ride what makes you happy". In the course of a single day he might body surf, ride one of his Dane Perlee shaped Pearson Arrow longboards, get barreled with a lunch tray or surfmat, surf a shortboard or a 11' or just go for a paddle.

He is looking forward to lifeguarding for the City of Santa Cruz, going to college, pursuing photography and film making, traveling and, of course, lots more surfing. When he isnšt surfing or at the beach, you can find Paul reading, listening to all kinds of music, making art, or restoring his 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix.
