Paul Scholten
Paul Scholten is one of a new generation of powerful and stylistic young longboard surfers hailing from Emerald Beach on the North Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Paul grew up exploring Australia's east coast on surfari's with his family and has followed the longboard contest scene from the age of 10. He developed his unique style surfing original sixties Malibu boards and was the Australian Junior Longboard Champion in 2002 and is currently the Australian Old Malibu Open Champion.
Since leaving school, Paul has worked in the building industry and recently gained his Surf Coaching Certificate. "I'm passionate about teaching kids and students how to surf and hope to eventually run my own surf school. I was stoked to hook up with Toes on the Nose and look forward to competing overseas on the International Longboard Pro Circuit".
In addition to Toes on the Nose, Paul is also sponsored by Arawwarra Longboards, North Coast Surf Company, The Log Shack, FCS and Gorilla Grip.
Paul has won the prestigious Logger Heads Competition three years running. Finished runner-up in the Crescent Head Classic for the last two years (2009 & 2010). He has won the Mal Der Mer comp and took out the Mick Branch Award in 09 State finalist and Semi finalist in the Ozzies titles 2010.
