With temperatures across most of the country hovering just below freezing, you're probably thinking that now would be a great time to pack up your favorite surf & swim board shorts and head off to warmer climates. We couldn't agree more. To help you out, we took a look across the different airlines to see who can get you to the beach without breaking your bank. We also travel quite a bit ourselves so we've added some of our favorite places to eat, drink, surf, and play. So, pack your sunscreen, turn your email off and sneak out for the weekend. You won't regret it.
The Cabo Surf Hotel is one of our favorite surf vacation spots. You can surf right out in front of the hotel and there is no need to bring your own board. Surfboard rentals and surf lessons are all at your fingertips. If the swell is up, you'll probably see the owner, Mike, out there with you.
Want to get in some golf? You're right next door to Palmilla Golf Club where this gorgeous course hugs the coastline, providing epic ocean views.
Don't forget to relax and head into town to tour the many eclectic art galleries while grabbing a beer at Baja's only microbrewery. Be sure to visit Flora Farms for an unforgettable dinner and a true Farm to Table experience.

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is one of the premier destinations in Hawaii. Upon arrival, head down to the Hau Tree and order yourself the one and only Fredrico (or if you want the ultimate, ask for the King Fred). No better way to dust off the jet lag, but go easy cause the Fred can sneak up on you. In the morning, wake up, don your favorite Hawaiian print t shirt and head up to the Hawaiian Style Cafe for their banana pancakes but be sure to go hungry because they're massive.
Hit their award-winning, championship golf course and take in unparalleled ocean views while playing this beautiful yet demanding course. Then head over to Lava Lava Beach Club for fish tacos and a cold beer on the beach.
Book a fishing trip with Siren Sportfishing. Tell Greg that the boys from Toes on the Nose sent you. It’s the best set up in the world and your lines will be in the water within 5 minutes of leaving the dock.

The Victoria House is my personal favorite place to escape from everything, grab a cocktail and sit on the beach while watching the world drift by.
Located on the Ambergris Caye, the coastline is protected by a reef which makes for some unreal snorkeling and scuba diving. Be sure to check out Shark Ray Alley for a chance to swim with nurse sharks and sting rays in only 6' of water.
Rock your favorite relaxed fit beach shorts, grab a bike from the hotel and cruise to San Pedro but just don't forget to hit Robin's Kitchen. This roadside stand has better BBQ than you'll find in any restaurant.
When the sun goes down, check out Fido's Restaurant and Bar. Their live music and signature cocktails will get you feeling higher than their enormous thatched roof.
- Boston to Belize - America Airlines - starting at $600

Want some adventure? Take a Waterfall Adventure where you can walk through ancient rainforests to the bottom of a cave waterfall where you'll see local turtles and take in spectacular views. One of our all-time favorite getaways also happens to be right in our own backyard. Even after traveling to some truly amazing places all over the globe, the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, CA continues to have a special place in our hearts.
Go to the hotel bar, Splashes, and watch the waves roll in while you enjoy a menu inspired by fresh, local, and simply delicious ingredients. Or walk down to Wahoo's where you might bump into the owner, Wing, for an iconic fish taco.
Laguna has never lost their roots as an art community and there are epic galleries from Wyland and his whales to the fine art at Kush and even the Laguna Art Museum which always has a great collection of local work.
Not enough? The Pageant of the Masters has living pictures of incredibly faithful recreations of classical and contemporary works of art that you can enjoy while listening to a professional orchestra.
But if you're like me and enjoy your art while sipping on a beer, you'll feel right at home at the Sawdust Festival. This is the perfect mix of local art, country music and cold drinks that is fun for the whole family.
But whatever you do, don't forget to stop by our store right on the strip at Main Beach to grab anything you need or to just come in and say hi. We're always happy to see you.
We hope you enjoyed our list of our favorite places to escape to when the weather starts to cool down. Please let us know in the comment section if we've missed any of your own winter hideaways or if there are any other secret spots that are just too good to pass up.
In the meantime, stay bundled up if you have to, but if you'd rather throw your swimsuit in a bag and take off for a long weekend, we won't tell anyone. (Even if your tan might give you away.)
- See you on the Beach!
